A gift bag while I get it together. Featuring a short story about escape, thoughts on the Prince doc shelved by Netflix, what Philip Barantini did before Adolescence and a tribute to the Val Kilmer few of us knew
So beautiful and moving, Amar. Sounds like life has really been testing for you recently. You have such a huge heart, and always admire your honesty on here with difficult topics. I'm sure your words will help others struggling with the sam emotions. Thinking of you and your dad. Rest up when you can too!
Heya 👋🏾 That's nice to hear. I felt the need to explain myself after a lengthy absence 🤷🏽♂️
It's not been fun. I'd much rather be adventuring somewhere but responsibilities first, eh. Once dad gets home, I think his condition will improve. Finchy, however, will be keeping me on my toes for a while longer.
You never need to explain yourself — though when you do so beautifully then it’s a pleasure to read, if not hugely emotive and sad. Of course, home is where the nervous system calms. Sending you a big hug. Also! Ready for finchy’s Substack viral moment!! I’m sure you’re being a great dog dad.
Amar, you write of the heart’s achings and complexities with such clarity, courage and precision. All the strength and love to you and your dad at this time. Keep doing what you do. X
Cheers, Stef. It's in my nature to try to understand what I'm feeling, however painful. To happier thoughts: we'll chat soon about your book baby! Looking forward… x
